By taking these simple steps, you can improve your website’s SEO and increase traffic and conversion rates.

3. Utilizing Anchor Text

Small businesses have little control over their anchor text, but they can still make use of it to improve their SEO.

Anchor text is the text that links to another web page or document on a website. It is the text that is displayed in the blue bar under a website’s URL.

When a website’s visitors click on a link to another website, that website’s anchor text is used to determine the page that is loaded. In other words, if a visitor clicks on a link to “www.example.com,” example.com’s anchor text is “www.” If the visitor clicks on a link to “www.example.com/products,” example.com’s anchor text is “products.”

Anchor text is important for SEO because it can help businesses rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). Anchor text can also be used to generate leads and traffic.

When a website user queries a specific topic, it’s important for the website to provide a list of internal pages that are relevant to the user’s query. This can be achieved by linking to important pages from within the site’s hierarchy, and by including canonical tags in the HTML of linked pages.
